“What is Mommin It Up?”
This is a question that I am asked often. In the simplest terms, it’s a way of life.
Motherhood is hard. It’s the toughest and most exhausting job I have ever had. It is mentally taxing and I have never felt so beaten down in my life by something. Until I grasped this concept.
Mommin It Up is realizing parenthood is tough and beautiful at the same time. It’s realizing that we are raising the future yet still growing and learning as humans ourselves. It is saying “I’m going to just wing it. Because I don’t have all of the answers and I know I’m not perfect. And that’s ok because I’m doing my best” It’s about getting to a place where you feel deep down that you are enough and that you aren’t alone. You will be better than some and not as good as others, but your children need exactly you. And it’s a good thing because that’s all they’ve got.
When you let go of the anchor or Mom guilt and self doubt, you will be happier and a much better Mom. It is a journey, and it doesn’t happen overnight. The more we love and appreciate ourselves, the more we will be able to offer the same to others. Because truthfully, we’re all just winging it anyway.
Mommin It Up is embracing the beautiful mayhem.
